Description
San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Coroner's Office is soliciting quotations from qualified, independent forensic pathology providers to perform as-needed full and partial forensic autopsies, external examinations, specimen collection and chain-of-custody management, identification assistance, documentation and photography, autopsy reports, death-registry reporting, toxicology and histology coordination, and related expert consultation or testimony. The services must comply with California Assembly Bill 1108, applicable professional standards, and National Association of Medical Examiners performance standards. The provider must maintain an active, unrestricted California Physician and Surgeon license; board certification in Anatomic Pathology or Clinical Pathology and Forensic Pathology from the American Board of Pathology; and independence from local employment or conflicting institutional associations with the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office. The scope also includes 24/7 telephonic consultation, expert witness testimony, and reports generally within 30 to 60 days of examination. Proposals must include qualifications and licensure documentation, curricula vitae for participating pathologists, at least three professional agency references, forensic pathology experience, technical approach, and line-item pricing.
