Description
The California High-Speed Rail Authority is soliciting bids for the manufacture, supply, and delivery of single-mode, loose-tube, steel-tape-armored fiber optic cables for its high-speed rail system. The base procurement covers approximately 1,584,000 linear feet of 2 x 144 fiber cable, with an option for approximately 792,000 linear feet of 1 x 288 fiber cable. The cables must support outdoor use, direct underground burial, duct installation, and CWDM/DWDM applications, and must comply with the technical, optical, mechanical, environmental, quality-control, testing, Buy America, and warranty requirements in the solicitation. The selected contractor will manufacture, test, package, transport, and deliver the materials to designated railheads in Kern County and Fresno County. Bidders must submit a sealed bid package, an electronic copy of the package excluding the Bid Form, a 10 percent bid bond, required forms and certifications, a Buy America certification, a technical criteria statement, past-performance information, a current seller's permit, ESG information, and applicable subcontractor commitment letters. The contract is expected to have an initial term of two to four years, with delivery beginning in the fourth quarter of 2027 and continuing into the first quarter of 2028 for the estimated base quantities.
