Kern County is seeking five new and unused, current-model, battery-powered all-terrain vehicles, identified as Boson LX40 Electric UTVs or acceptable equivalents. Required specifications include dual-motor four-wheel drive, automatic transmission, 2,000-pound towing capacity, 70-mile range, 96-volt battery, 110V charger, two-person seating, specified ground clearance and approach/departure angles, a 2-inch receiver hitch, turf tires, polycarbonate windshield, toolbox, side steps, roof, cellular connectivity, and adjustable side-view mirrors. Bidders must complete and return the specifications, indicating compliance or exceptions for each requirement. The bid includes pricing for each vehicle and the total quantity, delivery and availability information, warranty details, taxes, fees, and other costs. Warranty or service work performed by the vendor must be available within Kern County and paid for under the warranty. Vehicles will be inspected for compliance before acceptance, and the County may reject defective or nonconforming vehicles. The County may make a partial award to multiple vendors. The local vendor preference worksheet may be submitted for consideration if applicable.
