Description
The City of Chico is soliciting a contractor to install fiber optic drops from designated underground service points to demarcation points at customer premises on the North Valley Fiber open access network. Base work includes route coordination with property owners, direct-bury or conduit construction, trenching, boring, potholing, backfill, restoration, premise enclosures, termination, grounding, water sealing, locatability measures, and all associated materials, permits, traffic control, utility locates, testing, and environmental controls. The contractor must provide live GIS as-built documentation with spatially attached photographs, complete records within seven days of each drop, and describe proposed splicing, construction, testing, materials, pass-by/pre-placement, production capacity, staffing, and quality-control methods. Optional separately priced services include in-premise installation, break/fix support, and customer outreach. The agreement has an initial one-year term from Notice to Proceed and automatically renews for successive one-year terms subject to funding, demand, satisfactory performance, and City Manager approval. Performance and payment bonds are required, with amounts established in the final agreement.
