Description
The California Department of Water Resources is soliciting a contractor for as-needed protective coatings services at State Water Project pumping, generating, and water-conveyance facilities. The scope includes removal and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous coatings, abrasive surface preparation, finish coating application, corrosion-related weld repairs, Weko-Seal installation, coating inspection, hazardous-waste handling, and related transportation and materials support. Rescue services, including confined-space and high-angle rescue, may also be required. Bidders must meet extensive qualification requirements, including California C-33 licensing; AMPP/SSPC QP-1, QP-2, and QP-3 certifications; hazardous-materials and hazardous-waste registrations; certified industrial hygiene, asbestos, lead, coating-inspection, welding, scaffolding, and rescue capabilities; and Department of Industrial Relations registration. The contract is structured as a three-year term with three additional one-year renewal options. A minimum 3% Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise participation commitment is required, and subcontracting is limited to 25% of the work.
