Description
The City of Bakersfield is soliciting bids for approximately 2,990 trees in 15-gallon and 24-inch box containers across 20 line items, including Chinese pistache, crape myrtle, stone pine, interior and coast live oak, hackberry, Chinese elm, valley oak, western sycamore, Oklahoma redbud, Canary Island pine, and California bay laurel. Bidders must provide unit and extended pricing, applicable sales tax, and delivery pricing for the specified quantities, which may be increased or decreased by the City. Trees must meet the specified caliper ranges, container-growth requirements, American Standard for Nursery Stock standards, and Urban Tree Foundation quality specifications for crown, trunk, and root structure. The City may inspect stock before shipment or upon delivery, reject nonconforming trees, and require replacement within 14 calendar days. Approximately 200 trees are to be delivered biweekly as directed, with deliveries accepted Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The bid must be completed on the City's provided bid forms, signed by an authorized representative, and submitted as one signed original plus one copy in a sealed, marked envelope.
