Kern County is soliciting bids for one new, unused, most-current-model 1-ton extended-cab pickup with four-wheel drive and an animal control body. The vehicle must meet detailed specifications covering the chassis, drivetrain, safety equipment, towing equipment, cab features, tires, lighting, and accessories. The animal control body must include nine specialized compartments, including dog, sick-animal, dead-animal, and storage compartments; insulated, waterproof, corrosion-resistant, and chew-resistant construction; drainage; loading ramp; rear step bumper; auxiliary tool storage; keyed-alike locks; animal-safe surfaces; lighting; battery-powered air conditioning; light bars; work lights; equipment console; and final interior layout plans for review before fabrication. Bidders must complete and sign every specification sheet, provide pricing and delivery information, identify the quoted vehicle, and state any exceptions. The County may make a partial award to multiple vendors. The awarded vendor must handle specified vehicle registration paperwork and delivery inspection requirements.
