Description
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is soliciting construction services for five combined projects covering video detection upgrades at 14 signalized intersections in urban and rural areas statewide. The work includes furnishing and installing 360-degree video detection camera assemblies, IP video detection camera assemblies, video detection processors, long-range and Category 6 cabling, radar detectors, traffic signal equipment, pedestrian pushbuttons, controllers, cabinets, foundations, conduits, handholes, and related hardware. Contractors must perform site surveys, installation, configuration, testing, traffic maintenance, temporary detection and signalization, removal or relocation of existing equipment, construction surveying, test pits, selective clearing, and asphalt and restoration work as applicable. The specified equipment includes Miovision SmartView cameras and Core DCM processors, and Wavetronix SmartSensor Advanced Extended Range radar detectors. The radar detector specification states that substitutions are not allowed and requires Wavetronix manufacture. The work also includes manufacturer coordination, equipment documentation, quality-control plans, acceptance testing, 30-day system operational testing, warranties, Buy America compliance, and federally funded labor and nondiscrimination requirements. Prime bidders must be prequalified for Work Classification 13, Traffic Control & Illumination/Electrical.
