Description
The U.S. Geological Survey is offering one cooperative agreement to an eligible participating partner of the Great Lakes–Northern Forest Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit. The recipient will strengthen parasitology capacity at the National Wildlife Health Center by developing in-house molecular diagnostic tests for common or high-priority parasites, performing molecular diagnostics for high-priority cases, generating and depositing parasite reference sequences in GenBank, training staff in molecular parasitology techniques, and contributing to peer-reviewed publications or reports. The anticipated award includes one base year and four additional budget years, with total estimated funding of $276,000 and approximately $55,874 available in Budget Year 1. Applications must include a technical narrative, budget narrative and SF-424A materials, a Data Management Plan, biographical sketches and current and pending support forms for senior/key personnel, and a one-page Project Abstract Summary. The proposal must address the research problem, objectives, methods, products and dissemination, schedule, references, and applicable legal, animal-use, or human-subject considerations.
