Description
The U.S. Geological Survey requires a contractor to provide annual certification services for approximately nine chemical fume hoods, 37 Class II biological safety cabinets, approximately 60 rooftop HEPA filters, and other HEPA-filtered containment devices. Required testing includes face velocity, smoke containment, aerosol challenge, HEPA filter leak testing, airflow profiles, lighting, sound levels, and equipment-function checks, performed using calibrated equipment and applicable NSF/ANSI, ANSI/ASHRAE, IEST, and ISO standards. The scope also includes repair of biological safety cabinet performance issues, replacement-part support, decontamination before filter removal, relocation, mechanical work, or disposal, non-routine certification after installation or relocation, and a price sheet for separately ordered services. Deliverables include calibration certifications, equipment certification tags, electronic certification and problem-resolution reports, decontamination validation reports, certification procedures, decontamination procedures, equipment and PPE lists, sample reports, and a sample certification sticker. Personnel must have applicable NSF accreditation, extensive biological safety cabinet certification experience, medical clearance for respirator use, and must obtain required federal facility credentials before unsupervised access.
