Description
Jersey City Public Schools is soliciting a general construction contractor for the replacement of two natural-gas-fired steam boilers at Lincoln High School. The work includes demolition and disposal of existing boilers, burners, feed tanks, blowdown tank, pumps, heat exchangers, piping, controls, electrical equipment, and related components; installation of new boilers, burners, boiler-feed and blowdown equipment, condensate and vacuum systems, heat exchangers, pumps, piping, combustion-air louvers and dampers, flue and gas systems, concrete pads, doors, and associated plumbing and electrical work. The project also includes modifications to the existing fire alarm and building automation systems, testing, balancing, commissioning, training, temporary services, site protection, and restoration of affected finishes. The bid package requires a completed bid proposal, bid guarantee, consent of surety, numerous certifications and affidavits, contractor and subcontractor qualifications, licenses and registrations, ownership and political-contribution disclosures, equipment certification, prevailing-wage certification, non-collusion affidavit, and related forms and supporting documents. A $147,875 allowance is included for five months of temporary 200-horsepower boiler rental and related services. The contractor must substantially complete the work within 128 working days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed and purchase order.
