Description
The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene intends to negotiate a six-year agreement for the as-needed supply of INSTI HIV-1/HIV-2 Rapid Antibody Tests and INSTI HIV-1/HIV-2 Test Controls. The products will support the agency’s Bureau of HIV Field Services Unit and sexually transmitted disease clinics throughout New York City for rapid detection of HIV antibodies. The rapid antibody test is an FDA-approved, CLIA-waived qualitative in-vitro assay for human whole blood, finger-stick blood, or plasma, with results available in as little as 60 seconds. The test kit includes membrane units, sample diluent, color developer, clarifying solution, lancet, pipette, alcohol swab, and support materials. The associated positive and negative controls are intended to validate test performance. The agency states that BioLytical Laboratories Inc. is the sole manufacturer and seller and that there are no resellers or distributors; firms believing they can legally provide the goods may submit an expression of interest.
