Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting a contractor to provide contractor-owned and contractor-operated laundry and linen services for the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System. The scope includes supplying and renting linens; processing approximately 1,350,000 pounds of soiled linen annually; laundering, finishing, folding, hanging, packaging, and delivering linens, uniforms, garments, towels, mops, cleaning rags, and other healthcare textile items; and accepting, processing, and returning government-furnished items. The contractor must provide labor, supervision, equipment, supplies, transportation, bulk delivery carts, an off-site laundry plant, an electronic linen-ordering program, a 96-hour contingency linen supply, separate handling and transportation of clean and soiled linen, quality-control procedures, emergency response within four hours, and recurring titration, linen-loss, invoice, clean-linen, soiled-linen, cart, and vehicle-cleaning reports. The contract is a firm-fixed-price base period with four option years, and award will be based on lowest price among responsible, compliant offerors. An active business license is required, and the solicitation is a total small-business set-aside.
