Description
The Superior Court of California, County of Contra Costa is soliciting proposals for a provider to operate free, drop-in childcare services in the Children's Waiting Room at the Family Law Building. Services will support children ages two through fourteen whose parents or guardians are attending court proceedings or using the county law library; proposals may also address services for children age two and under. The facility operates Monday through Friday, excluding court holidays, during morning and afternoon service periods. The provider must supply at least two adult care providers whenever children are present, including at least one paid employee trained in child development and working with children with special needs or limited English proficiency. Responsibilities include child sign-in and release procedures, allergy and medical-needs screening, attendance and incident records, emergency-response coordination, recurring usage and satisfaction reports, staff training, sanitation, and maintenance of age-appropriate books, toys, educational materials, snacks, and incidental equipment. Personnel must pass criminal background checks, meet applicable health and vaccination standards, and be capable of administering emergency resuscitation or first aid. The proposal must include staffing and budget requirements, relevant experience, references, and a cost proposal. The initial contract term is three years with an option for two additional annual renewals.
