Description
Alameda County is seeking contractors for one or more of three service categories: museum-quality fine art handling, archival custom framing, and fine art fabrication in multiple two-dimensional formats. Handling services include safe transportation, preparation, technical consultation, and installation of artwork and temporary exhibitions, including specialized mounting and security systems. Framing services include custom archival frames, mats, glazing, mounting systems, and specialty finishes for approximately 100 artworks over the contract term. Fabrication services include technical consultation, digital file preparation, pre-production, and fabrication using methods such as UV flatbed printing and rollfeed pigmented inkjet printing on fine art paper, mural vinyl, wood panels, and aluminum composite panels. The County expects to establish pools of up to four handling contractors, three framing contractors, and four fabrication contractors for as-needed projects. Proposals may address one or multiple categories and must demonstrate relevant museum or public-art experience, including at least three significant projects for each proposed category, four references per proposed category, key personnel, service approach, project understanding, and required pricing. The initial contract term is three years, with a mutually agreed option for an additional two years.
