The University of California, Berkeley is soliciting sealed bids for a lump-sum contract to remove existing hardwood parquet flooring in the Zellerbach Hall Mezzanine Lobby and prepare the substrate, including crack isolation membrane and self-leveling compound as required. The contractor will install owner-furnished, contractor-installed ceramic tile. An add alternate covers the same work in the Upper Lobby Gallery, including balcony wing areas. Bidders must submit a Contractor’s Special Statement of Experience on company letterhead documenting three to five comparable nonresidential commercial tile-flooring projects, each with an award value of at least $350,000, completed within the past five years and located within the nine specified Bay Area counties. The successful bidder must hold an active California C-54 Ceramic and Mosaic Tile license, comply with prevailing-wage and labor-registration requirements, and attend the mandatory pre-bid conference and site tour to bid as a prime contractor. The estimated construction cost is $350,000.
