The State University of New York at Canton is soliciting bids for a single-contract general construction project to remove and recycle the existing turf and crumb-rubber infill, install a new blended polyethylene synthetic turf system with soccer and lacrosse markings, and provide associated drainage stone, grading, site preparation, athletic equipment, and furnishings. The work also includes new stadium lighting and electrical systems, including LED luminaires, remote controls and monitoring, electrical distribution studies, fencing, windscreens, and pole-to-pole protective netting. Alternates cover reuse of existing infill, stadium fencing and windscreen, protective netting, and entertainment or RGB lighting features. The project requires substantial contractor qualifications, including three similar construction projects completed within the past five years, a 5% bid security, and extensive post-bid information for the apparent three low bidders. The contract requires performance and labor-and-material bonds at 100% of the awarded contract amount, insurance, prevailing-wage compliance, and participation goals of 6% SDVOB, 11% MBE, and 19% WBE. Work is scheduled from May 3, 2027, through August 13, 2027, with a 12-year synthetic turf warranty and long-term lighting performance and maintenance requirements.
