Description
The contractor must remove and legally dispose of the existing outdoor air-conditioning units and coils serving Air Handlers 5 and 6, then install compatible replacement outdoor units and coils using EPA-approved refrigerant. The work includes new line sets, components, electrical hookups, building-controls work, integration with the building automation system, startup, testing, cleanup, and coordination to avoid disrupting ongoing research operations. The contractor must provide a technical and cost quotation, proposed-material submittals and supporting manufacturer literature for review and approval, and comply with applicable construction codes, USDA Agricultural Research Service standards, environmental requirements, permits, and wage requirements. A site visit is scheduled, and quotations will be evaluated on technical approach, schedule capability, price reasonableness, and acceptable or neutral past performance. The anticipated award is a firm-fixed-price purchase order for one project with a 90-day period of performance after notice to proceed.
