Description
The City of Independence is offering a city-owned residential structure for purchase and relocation from 306 2nd St. SE. The garage, land, foundation, and other improvements are excluded. The successful respondent will acquire the structure by bill of sale on an as-is, where-is basis and assume responsibility for permits, structural moving, utility coordination, route approvals, traffic control, site protection, relocation costs, debris removal, repairs, and restoration of disturbed City property. Proposals must address the destination site and legal right to place the structure there, zoning and setback compliance, permits and site readiness, a detailed relocation schedule, the proposed professional structural mover, proof of financial capacity, relevant disclosures and at least three comparable-project references, and a relocation and site-protection plan. Selected respondents must provide specified insurance before entering the property or commencing work and, upon execution of the final agreement, either a performance bond or $2,500 cash security deposit. The structure and respondent-owned equipment, materials, and debris must be removed from the City property no later than March 1, 2027.
