Description
This Sources Sought notice seeks capable commercial firms authorized to operate and do business in Japan to provide Direct Procurement Method services for household goods and unaccompanied baggage. The anticipated scope includes premove surveys, packing, crating, loading, containerization, weighing, inventorying, local drayage, delivery, unpacking, appliance servicing, storage-in-transit, container handling, and related documentation and claims support. The requirement is expected to support approximately 450 to 500 shipments annually across four U.S. military installations in the Tokyo and Kanagawa areas. Respondents must possess the required Japanese licenses and permits and provide the personnel, equipment, vehicles, materials, facilities, and warehousing necessary to perform military-specification packing and drayage. The notice requests a capability statement of no more than five pages describing the company profile, relevant past performance in Japan during the previous three years, similar projects, certifications, and other capability information. Cost or price information is not requested. The attached draft Performance Work Statement also identifies a contractor quality-control program as a preaward-submission requirement for a future contract solicitation.
