Description
The City of Cedar Rapids Public Works Department is soliciting bids for the relocation of exterior security cameras and related security devices at the Federal Courthouse. Work includes relocating PTZ cameras, installing or modifying poles and mounting hardware, maintaining fiber connections, relocating a reader/intercom, lights, garage access controls, and a card reader and other security equipment. The contractor must provide labor, equipment, materials, permits, approvals, as-built documentation, and all other items necessary to complete the work. Camera and device relocation, modification, removal, and reinstallation work must be performed by a U.S. Marshals Service Blanket Purchase Agreement-approved contractor, coordinated as necessary by the prime contractor. The work must comply with the U.S. Marshals Service Electronic Security Systems Handbook. Most scope items must be completed by March 1, 2027; PTZ cameras 2 and 3 are to be installed at the end of the 8th Avenue Bridge project, tentatively by December 1, 2030, and other security-device work will occur during the bridge project. The contract has an initial term beginning when the City executes the contract and ending December 1, 2030, with possible extension by written mutual agreement. Payment and performance bonds are required from the awarded contractor in amounts equal to the contract price, and insurance coverage and endorsements are required before contract approval and before work begins.
