Description
The City of Southfield is seeking a contractor for flooring work at Human Resources, the Executive Conference Room, Neighborhood Services, Community Relations, and related areas. The scope includes installation of specified carpet tile and ceramic tile, removal and disposal of existing flooring, surface preparation, materials, equipment, shipping, handling, and debris disposal. The carpet specification identifies Shaw Contract Alchemy Tile, style 5T135, color Onyx Silver, color number 33505. The contractor must also disassemble, move or lift, and reassemble workstations and furniture as needed, provide a project timeline, perform work during regular hours and weekends if necessary, and provide a start date at least two weeks in advance. Bidders must demonstrate at least three consecutive years of similar experience, have contracts with at least three other organizations for similar services, provide five recent references, relevant project experience, company qualifications, and identify proposed subcontractors. Insurance coverage is required, including commercial general liability, automobile liability, and workers' compensation. A mandatory site visit is scheduled before bid submission.
