Description
The Road Commission for Oakland County is soliciting bids for high-performance cold patch asphalt material used to repair paved surfaces throughout the county road system. The material must be a bulk asphalt patching mix capable of coating wet aggregate without stripping, remaining workable in uncovered stockpiles for at least 12 months, adhering in damp or wet conditions, and being placed at temperatures as low as minus 15 degrees Fahrenheit. Repaired areas must be capable of immediate traffic opening without kick-up or ravel-out, and the material must meet the stated 12-month performance requirements. The contract is a one-year firm-fixed-price arrangement for estimated quantities, with releases made as requested and payment by delivered ton. Containerized material will not be accepted. Bidders must identify the manufacturer and part number, provide pricing, complete the IFB document, and submit an affidavit confirming that the product meets manufacturer specifications. Named acceptable products include UPM, QPR 2000, and SMP CP6; other products require prior approval. Delivery is required to six Road Commission garage locations, and the solicitation permits award to one or multiple suppliers.
