Hidalgo County is soliciting bids to lease one parcel of approximately three to five acres for the establishment and operation of a Citizen's Collection Station for residential municipal solid waste. The property must be entirely available for the station, suitable for the intended use, free of legal restrictions, and provide adequate access for passenger vehicles, commercial collection vehicles, roll-off trucks, and heavy equipment. The parcel must be located within one mile south of Business U.S. Highway 83 on Mile 1 East in the Mercedes, Texas area and in an unincorporated area of Hidalgo County. The County anticipates placing approximately five 30-cubic-yard roll-off containers and operating collection and transfer equipment, with County personnel present during normal operating hours. The County may install fencing, utilities, signage, gates, a small office, storage structures, and other necessary improvements. The initial lease term is three years, with two optional one-year renewals. Bidders must submit property insurance, legal property information, ownership or leasing authority documentation, a survey or metes-and-bounds description, required certifications, references, and the completed response documents specified in the solicitation.
