Description
The Town of East Haven is soliciting bids from qualified HVAC contractors for the purchase, delivery, and installation of a replacement cooling system at Hagaman Memorial Library. The project is funded in part by a $43,000 Connecticut State Library Construction Grant and town capital funds. The successful bidder must provide a proposed project schedule covering equipment procurement and lead times, delivery, installation, commissioning, and final completion; obtain required Town permits and inspections; and provide a one-year workmanship warranty and applicable manufacturer warranties. Ongoing preventative maintenance is not required. Addendum No. 2 confirms that prevailing-wage requirements and post-award performance and payment bonds do not apply. However, each bid must still include a surety bond or check equal to 10% of the base bid. The Town will retain 5% of payments, and bidders must review and acknowledge Addenda Nos. 1 and 2. Addendum No. 1 specifies insurance requirements, including commercial general liability, automobile liability, workers’ compensation, employers’ liability, and umbrella/excess liability coverage.
