Description
Ulster County is soliciting a single-prime construction contract to restore the exterior of the National Register-listed Matthewis Persen House. The work includes replacement of cedar shingle and sheet-metal roofing; gutter, flashing, downspout, window, door, shutter, and exterior wood repairs; historic brick and stone cleaning, repointing, replacement, crack repair, patching, and below-grade parging; and related painting and coatings. The base work also includes stormwater and site improvements, including drainage piping, a drywell, sidewalk and bluestone work, and archaeological monitoring during ground disturbance. Alternate items cover underground drainage improvements and limewash on the building's stone walls. Bidders must demonstrate relevant historic-treatment experience, submit three recent references, provide the required bid forms and historic-treatment qualification information, and include a New York State Department of Labor Contractor Registry certificate. Prevailing wages apply, and the successful bidder must provide 100-percent performance and labor-and-material payment bonds after award.
