Description
Melrose Fire District is soliciting sealed bids for a multiple-contract public works project involving demolition of the existing Station 20 and construction of a new 10,664-square-foot, one-story, five-bay fire station with associated spaces and a community room. Separate prime contracts will be awarded for general building construction, plumbing construction, mechanical construction, and electrical construction; the general building contractor will be responsible for coordinating the work. Bids require bid security equal to 5% of the bid amount. The successful bidder must provide a performance bond, a separate labor and material payment bond, and insurance acceptable to the owner. Work is scheduled to begin in March 2027 and be completed by March 2028.
