Description
The City of Tulare is soliciting bids for utility relocation associated with the Highway 99 widening project. The work includes installation of 12-inch DR-14 PVC water main, tie-ins to the existing water system, water valves and combination air valves, a canal crossing with concrete protection pads and thrust blocks, and jack-and-bore installation of water main inside a 30-inch steel casing beneath State Route 99. The project also includes abandonment of an existing sewer manhole, construction of a new Type III sanitary sewer manhole, and associated utility testing, disinfection, backfilling, and restoration. Additional work includes roadway excavation, aggregate base, hot-mix asphalt paving, alley vee-gutter reconstruction, chain-link fence and mow-strip replacement, traffic control, dust control, stormwater pollution prevention, and related site restoration. The engineer's estimate is approximately $900,000. The contract requires completion within 60 working days, a California Class A General Engineering Contractor license, a bid guarantee of at least 10 percent, performance and payment bonds equal to 100 percent of the contract price, a 10 percent maintenance bond, and specified insurance coverage.
