Oelwein Community School District is requesting Category 2 internal connections equipment and associated software and licenses. The requirements include one Fortinet-or-equivalent firewall/router for the high school annex, a Layer 3 aggregation switch with redundant power and specified SFP28/QSFP28 capabilities, three Layer 3 switches, six 48-port Layer 2 switches, four 24-port Layer 2 switches, and 35 wireless access points. The switches must support specified 2.5 Gbps, 10 Gbps, and 25 Gbps connectivity, including PoE+++ on the 48-port switches. The access points must support Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), 10 Gbps uplinks, and 10 wireless streams across 6 GHz, 5 GHz, and 2.4 GHz radios. The filing identifies Fortinet and Ubiquiti, or equivalent products, and states that installation and initial configuration are not requested.
