Description
Boone County Fiscal Court is soliciting proposals to replace and upgrade the existing fire alarm system at the Boone County Jail. The work includes replacing the fire alarm control panel, remote annunciators, power boosters, expander devices, software, relay and monitor modules, smoke and heat detectors, pull stations, wireless communication equipment, and associated initiating-device wiring. Existing horn strobes and wiring will remain and be connected to the new system; wiring in laundry and shower areas must be installed in conduit. The project requires shop drawings, submittals, parts lists, a system pretest, final inspection with the authority having jurisdiction, closeout documentation, and a two-year parts-and-workmanship warranty. Installation must be phased so the existing and new systems operate simultaneously during transition, with cross-tripping until completion. Contractors must undergo jail-approved background checks, comply with secure-facility tool controls, and coordinate with deputy or maintenance escorts. The proposal must include a narrative, three similar projects with references, a materials list identifying manufacturers and models, and a cost proposal. A certificate of insurance is required, and Kentucky resident or qualified-bidder forms may apply.
