Description
The City of Shelton is soliciting bids for a New Year's Eve fireworks display on December 31, 2026, with a rain date of January 1, 2027. The display must run for at least 20 minutes, use shells no larger than 5 inches, and include accurate quantities for special-effect barrages and the grand finale. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, firing-system information, shell identification, required permits and licenses, weather-related storage, and compliance with applicable NFPA standards and Connecticut fireworks laws. The display will take place at Shelton Veterans Riverwalk Park, and the City may adjust the approximately 7:00 p.m. start time by one hour. Bidders must submit qualifications, licenses, experience and references, cancellation or postponement policies, shell quantities by size, total display duration, an inclement-weather policy, and a display description. A signed and notarized non-collusion affidavit, certificate of insurance, and acknowledgment of the sample agreement are also required. The City will not consider bids exceeding $13,500 and intends to award to the lowest responsible firm meeting the specifications, qualifications, experience, and safety requirements.
