Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting a firm-fixed-price contract for medical physicist testing and reporting services supporting the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Health Care System. Services include annual and post-repair inspections, acceptance testing, quality assurance reviews, certification, patient-dose evaluations, shielding design and surveys, CT protocol reviews, PPE and lead-garment inspections, written reporting, radiation-safety consultation, and emergency testing of medical, dental, nuclear medicine, PET/CT, MRI, CT, fluoroscopic, radiographic, ultrasound, and related imaging equipment. The contract requires qualified and certified medical physicists, including a master's degree in a specified physical science or engineering discipline, applicable board certification, modality-specific qualifications, and documented experience. Personnel must perform work on site, provide their own testing equipment and phantoms, travel among the listed VA facilities, and respond in person to emergencies within 24 hours. The contemplated structure is a 12-month base period with two 12-month option periods, with an additional potential six-month extension under the applicable option clause.
