Description
The State of Maine Department of Education is prequalifying general contractors to bid on a new sixth- through eighth-grade middle school for MSAD 17 in South Paris, Maine. The project includes construction of an approximately 126,000-square-foot school building, site improvements, and demolition of the existing Oxford Hills Middle School on an occupied campus site. The estimated construction cost is $73 million. Prequalified contractors will receive bidding documents no earlier than November 11, 2026; a notice to proceed is anticipated in spring 2027, with substantial completion anticipated by summer 2029. Contractors must submit the applicable pre-bid qualification application and notice of intent by September 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
