Description
The City of Lewiston is soliciting sealed proposals for lead-based paint hazard abatement at multiple residential units at 85 Whipple Street, 85 1/2 Whipple Street, 136 Spring Street, and 138 Spring Street. Work includes complete paint removal, encapsulation, enclosure, whole-component removal, HEPA cleaning, lead-safe disposal, clearance testing, and related incidental work identified in the lead-based-paint inspection reports and design specifications. The updated scope includes replacement of windows, entry doors, and fire-rated doors; installation of Energy Star-compliant windows and exterior doors; aluminum coil-stock and vinyl enclosures; and porch demolition and reconstruction at 136 Spring Street and porch restoration at 85 Whipple Street. The contractor must obtain required permits, follow applicable Maine DEP, HUD, EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting, and building-code requirements, provide notifications and a written notification plan, furnish warranties and product information, and submit a final abatement report within 30 days after project completion. Award will be made to the lowest responsive bidder.
