Description
The City of Lewiston's Public Works Department is soliciting hourly rental rates for heavy snow-plowing and removal equipment, trucks with operators, manual snow removal, sand spreaders, and related equipment for the 2026-2027 snow season. Contractors must furnish labor, equipment, fuel, and other required materials unless otherwise specified. Work includes plowing, hauling and disposing of snow, clearing entrances, walkways, sidewalks, steps, parking lots, and parking garages, and applying de-icing materials as needed. Garage top decks may be serviced only upon specific City request, and equipment used on membrane surfaces must have rubber cutting edges or comparable materials. The City will award contracts on a location-by-location basis to low bidders meeting all requirements, including references. Contractors must maintain safe access following storms, provide primary and backup contacts, comply with applicable regulations and substance-abuse testing requirements, and may not subcontract or assign the work without the City's written consent. The proposal must be completed on the provided Proposal Form, with pricing for all requested items and any exceptions clearly identified.
