Description
The City of Lewiston is soliciting bids for complete replacement work at the Foss 2 and Sabattus sanitary sewer pump stations. The scope includes removal of existing dry-well pump units; wet-well extensions; new submersible wastewater pumps, ductile iron piping and fittings, transducers, backup floats, check-valve vaults, force-main connections, electrical service equipment, transfer switches, conduits, wiring, VFDs, control panels, and backup diesel generators; sewer bypass pumping; traffic control; permits; and related sitework. The project includes two 6.5-horsepower pumps at each station, with 460-volt three-phase service at Sabattus Street and 208-volt three-phase service at Foss Road. The contractor must provide pump control panels, factory startup and testing, operator training, and required electrical and control submittals. A bid alternate covers additional bollards at both stations. The estimated combined project budget is $800,000. Addendum No. 5 revised the completion date to July 18, 2027, subject to possible extensions for supply-chain or delivery issues. A bid bond or certified check equal to 10% of the total bid price is required, and the successful bidder must provide performance and labor and material payment bonds equal to the total contract price.
