Description
The State of Michigan is soliciting bids for construction of a new stand-alone cold-storage pole building for the Department of Natural Resources headquarters at Belle Isle State Park. The approximately 3,246-square-foot structure includes a concrete slab, partial mezzanine, wood framing and trusses, metal wall panels, asphalt shingle roofing, overhead doors, electrical systems, lighting, storage shelving, fencing, and related site improvements. The building will be used for equipment and material storage and will not include repair, office, plumbing, heating, fire sprinkler, or fire alarm facilities. The work also includes relocating two existing double-walled fuel tanks to a new concrete fueling pad, replacing a single-walled tank with a new double-walled tank, installing pumps and associated controls, underground electrical connections, relocating an existing trash compactor to a new pad, constructing related infrastructure, removing the existing ramp and wall, and completing excavation, engineered fill, stone fill, chain-link fencing, erosion control, and lawn restoration. A 5 percent bid guarantee is required; performance and payment bonds are required for contracts over $50,000. The contract requires substantial completion by August 30, 2027, with a 60-calendar-day contract time from the Notice to Proceed also stated in the bidding documents.
