Description
The City of Garland is soliciting competitive sealed proposals for a general contractor to construct an approximately 8,500-square-foot administration and operations facility at the Duck Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project includes offices, conference rooms, a break room, restrooms, locker rooms, a processing laboratory, SCADA and control-center spaces, parking, utilities, landscaping, signage, and related site improvements. Work includes demolition and site preparation, earthwork, concrete, masonry, structural and deep-foundation work, cold-formed framing, roofing, waterproofing, doors and windows, finishes, furnishings, plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, communications, electronic safety and security, fire suppression, and exterior improvements. The contractor must furnish, install, test, and commission laboratory equipment and other equipment identified in the plans and specifications, including laboratory casework and accessories. Addendum 6 adds or modifies requirements for sheet waterproofing, precast architectural concrete, foamed-in-place insulation, and louvered equipment enclosures. The contractor must coordinate specified access-control, camera, furniture, and low-voltage vendors and include the furniture vendor's pricing. The estimated construction budget is approximately $6,800,000, including a $170,000 owner-controlled contingency. The solicitation requires prevailing-wage compliance, electronic submission through the Ion Wave eBid System, a bid bond of at least 5 percent of the maximum bid price, and payment, performance, and maintenance bonds as specified.
