Description
The California Department of Transportation is soliciting a price quote for roof sealing, industrial-grade silicone coating, gutter and downspout replacement, commercial-grade wind-driven turbine roof ventilator replacement, and related metal-roof repairs at the Mountain Pass Maintenance Station. The contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, tools, parts, materials, permits, disposal, travel, and incidentals; inspect and prepare the roofs; repair damaged roofing components; install approximately 170 feet of commercial-grade gutters and downspouts; replace vents with galvanized-steel or corrosion-resistant aluminum turbine ventilators; provide compatible flashing, fasteners, and weatherproofing; and leave the roof watertight. Replacement ventilators must be sized and selected based on the existing roof configuration, ventilation requirements, and applicable wind-load ratings, with manufacturer product data and installation details submitted for approval before installation. The opportunity is restricted to a certified California small business, microbusiness, small business for public works, or disabled veteran business enterprise. A current C-39 Roofing Contractor license and Department of Industrial Relations registration are required. Subcontracting is not permitted. The quote must include the required price proposal and certifications, and the total quote may not exceed $484,000. Prevailing-wage requirements apply when the total bid exceeds $15,000. A payment bond is required before work begins if the successful bid exceeds $25,000; insurance documentation is required from the awardee before agreement execution.
