Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas is soliciting a turnkey public-works contractor to repair and restore two existing cooling towers serving the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs. The base work includes field assessment; replacement of deteriorated fill media, drift eliminators, casing panels, basins, nozzles, and related components; structural repairs and corrosion control; inspection and repair or replacement of fan, motor, gearbox, shaft, sheaves, bearings, couplings, electrical, and control components; testing; commissioning; training; and closeout documentation. Replacement casing and basin components must generally be new 304 stainless steel or an approved equivalent. As Alternate 1, the contractor must price complete removal and disposal of the existing towers and furnishing and installing two new cooling towers, including rigging, demolition, structural and mechanical modifications, connections, and all related work for a complete operational installation. The project is estimated at approximately $300,000, is subject to Nevada prevailing-wage requirements, requires a Nevada contractor's license and State Public Works Division qualification, and must be completed by January 2027. A five percent bid security and 100 percent payment and performance bonds are required.
