Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas is soliciting bids for a turnkey public-works project to repair and restore two existing Marley NC8302EL2 cooling towers serving the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permits, testing, commissioning, coordination, and incidental services required for a complete and operational system. The work includes field assessment; replacement of deteriorated fill media, drift eliminators, casing panels, hot-water distribution basins, covers, boxes, nozzles, and related components; inspection and repair or replacement of fan, motor, gearbox, shaft, sheaves, bearings, and drive components; localized structural repairs and corrosion protection; water treatment and flushing; and protection of existing electrical and control systems. The contractor must coordinate phasing so that at least one of the two cooling towers remains available during repairs unless otherwise approved, complete commissioning and acceptance testing, provide at least four hours of in-person training for facilities personnel, and submit operation and maintenance manuals and closeout documentation. The estimated project cost is approximately $300,000. The project must be completed by January 2027, and the successful bidder must provide 100% performance and payment bonds, required insurance, a 5% bid security, applicable prevailing-wage compliance, Nevada contractor licensing, and apprenticeship-utilization documentation.
