Description
This Sources Sought notice and Request for Information seeks industry capability statements for dry-docking and repairing approximately four 64-foot U.S. Coast Guard Academy training boats. The anticipated effort includes dry-dock services, temporary services, marine chemist support, welding and structural repairs, hull and underwater-body inspections, ultrasonic testing, leak testing, propeller and shaft work, bearing and seal replacement, rudder work, valve and strainer servicing, fuel-tank cleaning, exhaust-system inspection, engine alignment, generator inspection and testing, windlass servicing, sea-trial support, and related mechanical repairs. The draft specification also includes extensive preservation and coating work, including hull, deck, superstructure, stern-tube, rudder-tube, bilge, and underwater-body coating systems; lead-ballast encapsulation; lead-dust cleaning and clearance sampling; environmental controls; and associated inspections and reporting. Responses must address the requested capabilities, facility and dry-dock capacity, availability, mobilization time, welding and subcontracting capabilities, certifications, and feedback on the draft specification. Capability statements are limited to 20 pages, and no pricing information is requested.
