Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requires the design, build, testing, and delivery of one new special-purpose, split-hull, trailing suction, shallow-draft hopper dredge to replace the Dredge Currituck. The vessel must be self-propelled with azimuthing thrusters, operate in shallow-draft ocean bar channels along the Atlantic Coast from Maine to Texas, dredge to 20 feet, carry 518 cubic yards, measure approximately 156 feet by 35 feet, and support 12-hour operations for seven days. The vessel must be ABS classed with the specified Maltese Cross A1 and AMS classifications and receive a U.S. Coast Guard certificate under 46 CFR Subchapter I. Construction is expected to begin 12–16 weeks after award and be completed within 16 months, followed by a one-year warranty. This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source contract to Conrad Shipyard, LLC; it is not a request for competitive proposals, bids, or quotes.
