Description
Long Beach Transit is soliciting bids to paint the exteriors and decks of four water vessels: two 65-foot AquaLink catamarans and two 40-foot AquaBus water taxis. The contractor must haul out and block the vessels, transport them, remove and reinstall hardware, prepare surfaces, apply primers and marine paint, perform anti-fouling and non-skid coating work, and relaunch or return the vessels after completion. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and transportation, use Awlgrip, DuPont marine paint, or an approved equivalent, comply with environmental requirements, and provide a craftsmanship warranty of at least 90 days after sign-off. The work is to be performed at the contractor's facility from January 2, 2027, through March 31, 2027, with weekly inspections by Long Beach Transit. Bidders must submit a firm fixed-fee price, milestone and payment schedule, quality assurance plan, materials plan, technical proposal without pricing, references, required certifications and forms, SAM.gov verification, and applicable subcontractor participation documentation. A minimum of 10 years of experience painting boats and a California contractor's C-33 license are required.
