Description
This sources sought notice concerns a proposed sole-source acquisition for access to a cyclotron facility capable of conducting proton irradiation experiments on focal plane arrays, detector test chips, discrete semiconductor devices, detector materials, and other sensing technologies. The required facility must provide a continuous proton beam with energy up to 63 MeV, specified flux and beam-uniformity characteristics, external beam control, sole beam access during reserved weeks, and dosimetry reporting. The anticipated requirement includes 40 continuous hours of beam time over one week, facility operators and administrative support, an 85% duty cycle, access to an experimental room before and after the beam week, 24/7 building access during the beam week, parking passes, radiation dosimeters or badges, and a dosimetry report delivered within one business day after departure. Respondents must submit a statement of interest on company letterhead, no more than three pages, demonstrating technical capability; this notice is for market research only and is not a request for proposals or a commitment to award a contract.
