The Bridge Pilot is a competitive funding opportunity for North Carolina community colleges to implement a two-year, student-focused healthcare workforce training model. Three colleges will be selected, with each receiving a total allocation of $756,667. The initiative supports eligible short-term Continuing Education healthcare pathways leading to recognized credentials and employment, including behavioral health technician, emergency medical technician, medical assistant, nurse aide, patient care technician, pharmacy technician, phlebotomy technician, and other listed pathways. Funding is intended for targeted student financial assistance, proactive success coaching, pathway navigation, employer engagement, and institutional capacity rather than creation of the underlying instructional capacity. Applicants must address community and regional need, program delivery and recruitment, Bridge Model implementation, institutional readiness, use of funds, and impact, sustainability, and replication. Applications are submitted electronically by November 18, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.; selected colleges will be notified December 16, 2026. Post-award requirements include progress and fiscal reporting, data sharing, evaluation participation, and statewide learning activities.
