Description
The City of Ontario's Municipal Utilities Company is soliciting a contractor for a major domestic water system improvement project. The work includes replacing approximately 10,292 linear feet of existing distribution mains with 8-inch, 12-inch, and 18-inch cement mortar lined and coated welded steel pipe; abandoning existing mains; installing valves, fire hydrants, air-release and blow-off assemblies, water services, carrier pipe, steel casings, corrosion protection, and temporary highline facilities; and making numerous connections to existing water infrastructure. The contractor must also perform utility potholing, jack-and-bore work, traffic control, trenching and shoring, hydrostatic testing, disinfection and bacteriological testing, stormwater pollution prevention, pavement and concrete restoration, asphalt overlay, striping, traffic-loop replacement, public notification, and cleanup. The project is subject to California prevailing-wage requirements, Department of Industrial Relations registration, State License Class A requirements, and California Air Resources Board compliance. Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder based on the base bid. A mandatory remote pre-bid meeting is required, and the project must be completed within 303 calendar days after the contract start date specified in the Notice to Proceed.
