Description
The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is soliciting quotations from qualified interior design firms for comprehensive design services for an existing County-owned property. The project involves redesigning approximately 10,000 square feet of space to be shared by three different units within the Sheriff's Office. The selected firm will be responsible for space planning, interior construction design, and ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards, including ADA, fire and life safety, and general building codes. The scope includes designing modular workstations, private offices, reception and waiting areas, and common areas, with a focus on privacy, efficiency, and safety for staff and the public. Additional responsibilities include developing furniture and equipment layouts, specifying furnishings, and providing recommendations that support durability, safety, and long-term usability in a high-volume public service environment. The firm will also act as a resource for building code compliance questions throughout the design and implementation process.
