Description
The Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) is seeking proposals from qualified architectural and engineering firms to provide professional services for the design, bidding, and construction administration of a maintenance equipment storage building at the Baraga Correctional Facility (AMF). The project includes preliminary design to review potential building locations, field reconnaissance, and the design of a steel-framed and paneled building with a concrete/masonry foundation and floor slab. The approximate footprint is 50-80 feet wide by 100 feet long, with a heated and insulated interior, floor drains, and a fire alarm system. The building will be located outside the secure perimeter, with considerations for stormwater runoff. Services requested include complete Professional Services Contractor (PSC) proposals for all required architectural and engineering services, covering preliminary design, design, bidding, and construction administration. The PSC will be responsible for gathering and verifying all base information, preparing design deliverables in accordance with MDOC standards, and managing project schedules. Site access will be strictly controlled, and prior LEIN clearances, DOC facility orientation, and site sign-in/sign-out are mandatory for all project personnel. Phone, camera, laptop, tablet, and smart device use may be restricted within the facility.
