Description
This Sources Sought/Request for Information seeks industry capabilities for a lightweight, ruggedized, modular, body-worn operational control system for special operations forces. The proposed system is expected to provide distributed edge computing beyond the end-user device, power management, bidirectional IP and serial data routing, peripheral-device connectivity, and support for tactical radios, GPS, laser range finders, M-Code devices, and other mission equipment. The system must address extensive hardware, networking, human-factors, environmental, security, and electromagnetic-interference requirements. These include tactical-gear mounting, low weight and profile, quick-disconnect cabling, open interfaces and APIs, local processing without external connectivity, classified-data handling using volatile memory, ruggedization, environmental and shock/vibration performance, ingress protection, power-source management, and compatibility with specified government-furnished equipment. Respondents must provide technical and commercial capability information, rough-order-of-magnitude pricing, development and integration estimates, risks, ownership and certification information, subcontracting details, and completed questionnaires and requirements-compliance matrices. Responses are limited to 35 pages including the cover page.
